Never take pics facing into the sun

I was always told you "should never take pics while facing the sun, you should always have the sun behind your back". Apparently facing the sun can mess with the automatic exposure of your photo. I was never one for conforming to popular belief, so here is my pic of Templebreedy Church and graveyard in Crosshaven, taken not only facing into the sun but the sun is in the top left corner of the pic.
